This was never going to go well, anyone who does not understand that knows little about football.

Better out of it now than three more games in this tournament and 2 or three big name Injuries.
West ham are depleted, simply put the squad is thin and newly formed The Romanians are a good footballing nation who know a bit about fighting, I for one did not care that much about Europe though it is sad for the fans who went .

Think of this season as the difficult second album.

'This was never going to go well, anyone who does not understand that knows little about football.'

Possibly the stupidest thing I've ever read on here. And I even read some of the EU thread.

Re: We just ain't that good.
Listen you Cunts who on here thinks we had a chance of winning the European cup?

When I am saying this was never going to go well I am not talking about the match against the Romanian side yea sure West ham could have won that then had another two games lost and lost Payet or Lanzini because the squad is too thin.
Obviously I want West Ham to win every game they play I am a fan, but I am not blind to what we have as a squad at full strength we can have a go at any team that is for sure but now is not the time it just is not had it been we would have a better squad not a good squad that has Injuries all over the place but a solid squad that can afford to get Injuries West ham right now cannot.

Re: We just ain't that good.
Feel sorry for fans that go to these and other cup matches. These are reserve team matches for reserve players and youth to play in. As Ian Wright said this is the only time the first team players get a break Tonight there was only 3first team players from last season on there. It's all about the Premiership.

This cunt should never post on football related matters again.

Re: We just ain't that good.
I think it's a defensible opinion to not care too much about tonight's result if your argument is that it's in the best interest of the club long term. Our squad was too thin to compete in both Europe and the Premiership, so being eliminated may be a blessing as it unquestionably was last season. Obviously at some stage we would like to be a big enough club where European football (preferably Champions League) and Premiership are both simultaneously attainable but we are not there yet. Hopefully we can have an extremely successful domestic season and our European exit won't have any ramifications on attracting players to the club. Telling a supporter to fuck off and support someone else because they are not too concerned by tonight's result is not quite grasping the potential damage it *may* have caused if we had won.

Re: We just ain't that good.
So this is good because the aim is for us to concentrate on the league so we can er.................get into europe?

We had all this "not bothered, we're not ready yet" nonsense after we lost to the mighty Astra last year.

:^) 2:47 Fri Aug 26
Re: We just ain't that good.
We should set up friendlies every year with Astra until we can finally beat them. Then we'll KNOW we're ready for Europe.

Well, unless they are struggling in the bottom half and get spanked 5-1 in the league the previous game...

Re: We just ain't that good.
We can't possibly meet them again, can we?

No other team has put us out of Europe this decade...
